Comment = I'm sick of all of this self-righteous crap from Vick. He wants us to believe that where he lived and grew up this was an entrenched lifestyle. These are dogs, and they are just like humans. Vick has supposedly apologized, sought foregiveness, but I don't really think he's sorry! Like you said, he's only sorry he got caught. He only SERVED 18 MONTHS FOR THE CRIME. Vick has no place in this society! I love this website and cant wait for my scrubs! It's great that you put your opinions in with your product, it is really a unique place to shop and I love the way you are not afraid to speak your mind.

Comment = I for one if it we're up to me Michale Vick would be dead. And i think the God and The Goddess that I'm not a Animal Control Agent or a Game Warden and this is not a threat towards anyone. But in my eyes there would be a few less humans on this earth. What he did or what anyone does to animals in the way of harm i just can't get. And i really really try hard to understand Why people feel the need to hurt animals in any way.
Then on the other hand i understand that people need a second chance. Heck As sure as I'm typing this I'm living proof of what a second chance can bring. And so many people don't get second chances. The System that people speak of If you were to break it down It's set up for people coming out of prison or jail or who has a record to fail. People who get out get told all is forgiven you did your time a fresh start they are handed a stacked deck of cards and being told lets play. All the while the system is standing there waiting for them mess up again because of a lack of work skills or a lack of support. ie ( Family, Community ) I for one forgive Micheal Vick for his wrong doings but on the other hand I'm not so quick to forget what he has done. And i praise the Eagles Football Team for standing up and being the only team in the NFL to say come play for us We got your back. Micheal Vick has a long road ahead if you haven't been watching. Congrats On his Playoffs and Congrats! for busting his butt and believing in himself and taking responsibility for his actions. These are my thoughts use them as you wish... Anthony

Anthony, have you ever heard of someone getting a "second chance to prove theirself"? That's what a second chance is.....it's time to prove yourself that you have changed. Vick didn't have to prove himself, he was rewarded. The Eagles was the only team to stand up and have Vick's back? That's because they wanted to WIN. Vick is a good quarterback and that was all the Eagles were after......winning. And then President Obama calls the Eagles and applauds them for giving Vick his second chance. This only sends a message "Look what I got away with and you can too!" Our president doesn't even call the familys of fallen soldiers! Did he call the person who hired the homeless Ted Williams (the guy with the golden voice) and thank them for giving Williams a second chance? You say congrats to Vick for believing in himself......he don't have a problem with that.....he believes in everything he does.
Vick has not served one minute in prison for animal cruelty, he was far more cruel to his dogs than most of his defenders seem to realize. He only served time for dog fighting. Most people who defend him are uninformed. They don't really realize what Michael Vick did.
The details that get to me and stay with me involve the swimming pool that was used to kill some of the dogs. Jumper cables were clipped on to the ears of under-performing dogs, then, just like with a car, the cables were connected to the terminals of car batteries before lifting and tossing the shamed dogs into the water.
This is premeditated murder, and the damage to the pool walls tells a story. It seems that while they were scrambling to escape, they scratched and clawed at the pool liner and bit at the dented aluminum sides like a hungry dog on a tin can. Picture the dogs splashing frantically in bloody water ... screaming in pain and terror ... brown eyes saucer wide and feet clawing at anything, desperate to get a hold. This death did not come quickly. I'll have that picture in my head for the rest of my life.
Vick even threw family pets into the pit with fighters and laughed while they were mauled, according to a witness who testified to federal investigators.
That's what sends dog lovers out to football games with protest signs: They know Michael Vick tortured and killed innocent dogs and that he has never paid for that abuse or even apologized for it.
Animal cruelty charges were eventually dropped in a plea bargain -- and he was convicted only of bankrolling a dogfighting conspiracy, for which he served 18 months in prison before being welcomed back to the public spotlight.
He's shown no sign of understanding, or regret over, the fate of his dogs.
On "60 Minutes" Vick said he 'let it happen.' He slammed and beat and hung dogs to death. He doesn't take any responsibility for it."
Football fans were spared the most disturbing details of his tortures and could go back to their Sunday night ritual forgetting about what Vick did.
Before you, too, become one of the people saying Vick's done his time and deserves to get on with his life, think about the dogs who were buried in the dirt of Bad Newz Kennels. The horrific fate of those dogs makes it harder for what he did to be buried along with the dogs he killed.
I just wish I could get the image of those frightened, drowning dogs out of my head. I wish I could go back in time and pull them out to safety to live the life they deserved to have........and I hope it haunts the hell out of Michael Vick every night that he tries to sleep.

If we can't admit that the crimes to which Michael Vick pled guilty make one a bad person, then we have no definition of morality anymore.
Vick supporters who want to see him play football again should, if they’re being honest, say “We don’t care what Vick did to dogs, we just want to watch him play football.” But please don’t say he apologized, nor that he paid his debt. You can’t pay a debt you’ve never admitted you owe.

There is no forgiveness for abuse not only towards animals but also people. These acts are done with a conscious mind. There is no positive difference ANY ABUSER can make that will ever make up for what they have done.I STAND PROUD TO BE A VOICE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK!

Comment = i agree vick did a horrible act. I do not agree that he should be discriminated against due his awful actions in the past. The key word is past. He as with any addict or other offender deserves a chance to prove he has changed. The beauty of this country is we do time if commit a crime, but then we can make a positive difference if they truely have the desire, have the heart, and truely have God in their life. I totally agree with the fact he did horrible things to innocent dogs, but lay off the guy, give him a chance to show the world he has changed and truely regrets his actions of the past. Thank You!

Vick, of course, was never convicted for the suffering of his dogs, and instead his team of enablers finagled a sweetheart deal giving him a little prison time to amp his cred with other thugs followed by an image-rehabilitation program as skilled at manipulation as the man himself is on the football field. Frankly, just thinking about the money poured into the “redemption” of this man wants me to post the most gripping image of the lot to call them all out on their behavior. The image: That of the dog who was swung like a jump rope and slammed to the ground as many times as it took to beat the life force out of the animal.
Gina Spadafori said "This dog, the pain on his rotting face could barely be discerned, if at all. But what could clearly be discerned, even before the red dot of Dr. Merck’s laser pointer touched them, were the points of impact, the circles of damage from repeated slamming into the ground."
Forget? Forgive? Not in my lifetime. And shame on those who banked the checks to spin this for a man who should never be trusted to care for his own children, much less be allowed to keep another dog to pose prettily for pictures to complete the narrative of redemption.
But Michael Vick? That name sticks in my throat like vomit, because while many have argued that he was singled out because of his fame or because of his race, the fact remains that because of his money — and the profit potential he represented in the future to his employers, apologists and enablers — a lifelong pattern of unspeakable delight he took in the cruelty he has yet to fully acknowledge, apologize or atone for has been largely forgiven and is well on the way to being forgotten. At least in the eyes of those who never saw what was left of his dogs.

Comment = millions of people contribute to dog fighting EVERYDAY....the only thing that makes vick different is that he got caught and he's famous....i guess we gotta hate somebody, but we gota face it.....the man can play football, so suck the shit up and get over it....thanks!!!!

I don't have to suck ANYthing up. Dogs were tortured, mutilated, beaten and hung.......he got caught....you're right......and ANY time one of those jerks gets caught is cause for celebration. Famous or not famous, he got caught and just because he can play football does NOT give him the right to cruelly treat an animal.
What's sad, is the fact that you cannot display your feelings behind your true name.
If normal people like us would have done what vick done, our livelyhood would be done with! Let him go to work in the steel mill and earn his money like everyday people. Oh, I forgot you can't even be a convicted felon to work in a steel mill.
Vick deserves NOTHING........his old team even deserted him.

Comment = I was a dire hard Eagles fan up until this Vick situation. I have a pit/boxer and he is my angel. I cannot possibly imagine how anyone could do such horrible things. Not only is it a disgrace that they signed a contract with him but to pay him millions on top of it all. With everything going on in this country, this illustrates a terrifying example to our little ones about whats right and wrong. We work so hard to pay our bills and Vick gets millions after doing THAT! They should be ashamed!!! I wish Westbrook would move to another team so I could continue to cheer for an incredible player. Not only the EAGLES but the NFL too.

A man who can look a dog in the face and deliberately pick the most brutal and prolonged way of killing that dog, for nothing more than being insufficiently vicious – I think most people could reasonably wonder if such a man could ever genuinely be rehabilitated.

Comment = No team with any integrity would hire Vick. I doubt I will ever watch them play again. Are the Eagles that desperate.I see no remorse from Vick in interviews. No he doesn't deserve a million dollar deal. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO VICK AND THE EAGLES

DeeDee, I've seen the interviews too, and you're right, he shows NO remorse. I wish the NFL commissioner could of stood up to the public pressure and said "no, this is just too heinous for reinstatement". After all Pete Rose was banned from baseball, and still after over 20 years is still banned for betting on the sport. Vick, not only bet, but he bankrolled, tortured and killed! If this isn't a reason for someone to be banned forever, it just doesn't exist in the NFL.

Some commentators have argued that Vick should be allowed to play because he “made a mistake” and has now “paid his debt.” Perhaps these people are under the mistaken impression that all Michael Vick did was fight some Pit Bulls. But dog fighting, as cruel a crime as it is, is the least of what Michael Vick did.
According to the prosecutor's statement of facts in the case, between 2002 and 2007 Michael Vick and his co-conspirators Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor killed thirteen dogs by various methods including wetting one dog down and electrocuting her, hanging, drowning and shooting others and, in at least one case, by slamming a dog’s body to the ground.
Michael Vick didn't make a mistake. He didn't "make a bad choice." Over a period of five years he forced dogs into deadly fights, and he personally killed, or conspired to kill, thirteen dogs. He didn't pick a quick, painless method of killing, but instead chose a variety of means that qualify as torture. Pit Bulls are powerful dogs. Imagine how hard you would have to work to kill a Pit Bull by forcibly drowning him.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reports, "Sometimes [the dogs] were starved to make them more vicious in the pit."
And Michael Vick didn’t confine the abuse and killing to his own Pit Bulls.
According to a November 2008 ESPN.com news story, a report prepared by the USDA's inspector general-investigations division revealed that Vick, Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor also put family pet dogs into the ring with trained pit bulls.
The report, dated Aug. 28, 2008, says, "Vick, Peace and Phillips thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to [Vick’s] Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs."
Supporters say Vick apologized for his actions. But in his famous press conference apology, Vick admitted only to fighting dogs, despite the fact that he pled guilty to all charges, including the killings. He admitted to “making mistakes” and “immature acts.” But deliberately and repeatedly planning dog fights and repeated premeditated violent killings of dogs are not “mistakes.” They are not the acts of someone who’s merely immature. They are the acts of a sociopath and a predator.
